lyrics
disturbing in ways in which i cannot explain
ill listen to the lectures
no i won't complain
though i could fall into a puddle of water
i wouldn't feel a hint of shame
you say that your headaches have gotten worse over time
id recommend some advil it does wonders for mine
don't know if I'm old enough to understand that had enough
means closure, i'd say thats fine
have you heard our lonely tunes?
cause' all our eyes are sitting on you
in your comfy chair you say you have no cares
you're dancing around in your underwear
most of all there's particles making up your articles
of clothing you just can't keep on
ill wear a mask to hide the facts
theres backs out there that must be stabbed
look past it, it's a different time
this bed may be uncomfortable and i may not be lovable
but at least i can call you mine
As a massive Modest Mouse fan I was skeptical when I read people comparing The Guru to them. They have a similar lo-fi rocker vibe to early MM but are way dancier and way less serious (as far as lyrical content). The main similarity is between the vocalists, especially when they're screaming. That said, this band definitely has its own sound and this album is worth more than a few listens. BionicGiblet
Perfectly encapsulates the teenage experience. Finding this album while still young and in high school was the best decision I've made in quite awhile. charlesjr
Adopting an optimistic, genre-fluid mindset atypical to most contemporary punk rock, the Aussies rage against the machine with glee. Bandcamp New & Notable May 2, 2024
Specializing in bright, sunny "bedroom rock español," this Brooklyn singer-songwriter puts a unique spin on lo-fi music. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 18, 2024
Oh my lord, Old Gray is absolutely perfect. The first track is the obvious highlight of this EP and it's in my opinion their best track ever. Thanks for the amazing music and feelings <3 Alex Jesus
